SCOUTING REPORT
UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA
Last updated: July 22, 2026
Overview
Central Florida’s women’s program is operating from a position of conference strength in the Big 12, with track and field built around high-end speed and hurdle talent and supported by useful scoring potential in jumps and selected distance areas. Its recruiting profile is clearly aggressive in the sprint-based events, while cross country and distance are being developed more as complementary pieces that can raise championship depth across the full year. With upcoming losses concentrated among elite sprint/hurdle and distance contributors, UCF is now reinforcing its best scoring areas while also adding enough endurance depth to support both women’s cross country and the distance side of track.
Women's Program Pro
On the women’s side, Central Florida is a proven conference contender in track and field, and it is recruiting accordingly: the Knights are pursuing impact sprinters and hurdlers first, especially athletes who can score quickly in the 100, 200, 400, 100 hurdles, and 400 hurdles. Jumps remain an important secondary priority, with particular attention on long jump and triple jump as immediate scoring events, while distance recruiting is focused on adding quality 800-meter and 1500-meter talent that can also strengthen cross country and the broader endurance group after an upcoming top departure. Because UCF does not show the same broad national profile in cross country as it does on the track, it is also adding women who can help lift the overall consistency of its distance unit across both seasons.
Current Recruiting Outlook Pro
Central Florida is currently looking for women who can preserve its edge in sprint-driven conference scoring, so the highest-urgency needs are elite 400/200 athletes, high-level hurdlers, and versatile jump-sprint combinations. It is also targeting strong 800-meter and 1500-meter recruits who can contribute in cross country and develop into championship-caliber middle-distance scorers, while selectively adding field-event help in the long jump, triple jump, and discus. For a recruit, the clearest fit at UCF is an athlete ready to compete in an ambitious Power Four environment and contribute to a women’s program that is actively maintaining conference-title standards.
