SCOUTING REPORT

SUNY FARMINGDALE STATE COLLEGE

Last updated: July 22, 2026

Overview

SUNY Farmingdale has built itself into one of the Skyline’s most reliable all-around Division III programs, with especially strong recent results in both men’s and women’s track & field and steady conference relevance in cross country. Its women’s side has been setting the tone with championship-level breadth across the track and field lineup, while the men’s side remains a conference contender with particular strength in jumps and a solid overall event balance. As a Division III public institution, SUNY Farmingdale is recruiting athletes who can score quickly at the conference level while also adding depth in the event areas that keep it near the top of the Skyline team race.

On the men’s side, SUNY Farmingdale is operating as a consistent conference factor in cross country and a title-caliber track & field program, with jumps standing out as a signature strength and the sprint and throwing groups remaining competitive enough to support a full-team push. The distance side has been dependable in conference competition, but with pending outgoing distance athletes in both cross country and track, the Rams are now reinforcing that group with recruits who can contribute in cross country and step directly into the 800 meters, 1500 meters, and longer collegiate distance events. In track & field, SUNY Farmingdale is also continuing to pursue impact jumpers--especially in the horizontal jumps and pole vault--while adding complementary sprint and hurdle talent to preserve its conference-scoring range.

The women’s program at SUNY Farmingdale is functioning as one of the Skyline’s standard-setters, with sustained excellence across sprints/hurdles, jumps, and overall team scoring, plus a distance group that continues to support both cross country and track success. The strongest recruiting ambition appears in the jumps, where SUNY Farmingdale is clearly pursuing high-upside athletes capable of protecting an event area that has repeatedly separated it in conference competition. At the same time, its women’s recruiting remains active in the sprint group--particularly the 200 meters and 400 meters--and in key support events such as the 800 meters and shot put to maintain the lineup depth required for another conference title push.

Right now, SUNY Farmingdale is prioritizing women who can score in jumps and sprints immediately, men who can stabilize the distance pipeline after upcoming roster turnover, and versatile athletes on both sides who can add conference points in multiple places. For men, that means the clearest emphasis is on 1500-meter/5000-meter cross country profiles, plus jump specialists and selected hurdlers who raise the ceiling of the championship lineup. For women, SUNY Farmingdale is being especially aggressive with jump recruits and is continuing to add strong 200-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter, and shot put prospects who can help it maintain its place near the top of the Skyline.
